So I am sitting in my office on Sunday morning thinking about everything that is to take place today. I have a list of things to do. Tomorrow a professor of mine is coming into town so I will not be in the office most of the day. Instead I will be working on Friday when I normally do not. However, I still want to get some extra stuff done today so that I will feel relaxed tomorrow. I need to go visit a couple of people this afternoon. I need to do next week's bulletin. I need to update the blog that I have neglected this past week. I need to start looking at my sermon. And I also need to get my house ready for more company.
We always have lists of things to do, don't we? But I often wonder how much of it is for us? Well, probably all of it. God doesn't just want us to spend an hour with him on Sunday mornings. He doesn't just want us to spend some personal time with him each day. He truly wants us to spend our whole lives with him. But how do we do that? In the midst of our crazy busy schedules, how is every moment spent with Him? We still have things we need to do. The fishermen still fished didn't they?
So anyway, as I continue to ponder this for myself, what does it mean for you? How do you live in God's midst even in your busiest times?
More thoughts on this later...
